A True Gift From God

It's funny how when you decide to leave loved ones, that's when you cherish things the most. All this week I've been fearing the thought of leaving William for 10 days to go on a missions trip with our youth group. However, oddly enough, it's been rewarding because I've cherished such little things about him that I normally don't. Usually every morning I wake up with the thought of, "is this going to be a bad day or a good day". The truth is, they're all good days because God graciously gave them to us...it's just that each day may be more of a challenge than another. I wish I wasn't so "human", where every day I could look at Will with amazement and awh of who he is and what he's doing, but the truth is, I mostly concentrate on what he's doing that's naughty or what he's not doing. How sad! My next challenge for you mothers reading this. Take time each day to pray with your kids and to pray for them. Cherish little things like his smile or laugh, they way he's dancing or singing, the way he sleeps or says "momma". Thank God for who he is and for graciously giving you such a wonderful gift.

Please, if you're reading this and know what I might be going through (leaving my son for such a long time), please pray for me and my husband and our son William. I truly appreciate it.
